Refund & Cancellation Policy

We believe in transparent, upfront rules. Organizing boutique expeditions in the Eastern Himalayas requires advance vehicle holds, community lodge retainers, and forest permits. Here is our exact policy.

1. Voluntary Guest Cancellations

Notice Period Before Start Refund Amount Date Rescheduling
30+ Days Prior 85% Refund (or 100% Credit) Free Date Transfer (12 months)
15 – 29 Days Prior 60% Refund 1 Date Transfer (₹2,500 admin fee)
Under 14 Days Prior Non-Refundable Subject to lodge & vehicle retainers

*Government permit fees (ILP / PAP / Forest Department entrance passes) are paid directly to state treasuries and are non-refundable once issued.

2. Weather, Landslides & Force Majeure (Mountain Safety Guarantee)

High-elevation passes (like Sela Pass at 13,700 ft) or heavy subtropical rains in Meghalaya can occasionally trigger sudden road blocks or official security restrictions.

If an expedition cannot commence due to certified natural disasters, border closures, or severe road blockages prior to day 1:

  • 100% Travel Credit Voucher issued with a 12-month validity window for any future departure.
  • Alternatively, our team will propose an equivalent low-elevation alternative route (e.g. Khasi Valleys or Kaziranga).

3. How to Request a Refund or Date Change

Send your booking reference code (e.g. JTS-XXXXXX) to our concierge desk on WhatsApp at +91 92294 22133 or via email to expeditions@jahataksafar.com.
Eligible refunds are processed directly back to your original source account via NEFT/UPI within 5 to 7 business days.
