Terms of Service

These terms govern all reservations, field expeditions, transport services, and naturalist guiding provided by JahaTakSafar.

Last Updated: September 2026 • Jurisdiction: Guwahati / Shillong, India

1. Reservation & Payment Process

Submitting an inquiry or providing a UPI UTR / reference number constitutes a provisional reservation request. A booking is only officially confirmed once our concierge verifies the funds in our bank account and issues a written Confirmed Expedition Voucher via WhatsApp or email.

2. Inner Line Permits (ILP) & Documentation

Expeditions into protected areas (including Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and select border regions) require official government permits. Travelers are required to supply valid government-issued photo identification (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID) at least 7 days prior to departure. JahaTakSafar coordinates permit filings but is not responsible for permits withheld due to fraudulent or incomplete guest information.

3. Wilderness Conduct & Indigenous Protocols

Our journeys pass through sacred indigenous groves, community-conserved forests, and delicate living root bridge ecosystems. Guests must strictly adhere to instructions provided by our certified local guides, including:

  • Zero single-use plastic littering on trails or in water bodies.
  • Maintaining mandatory distance from wildlife in national parks.
  • Observing local cultural photography permissions in tribal villages.

4. Health, Fitness & Travel Insurance

Expeditions involve mountain roads, high elevations (up to 4,170 m at Sela Pass), and rugged stone steps (Nongriat). Guests certify that they possess adequate physical fitness for their selected itinerary. Comprehensive personal travel and emergency medical insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers.

5. Weather & Operational Adjustments

In the event of unseasonal cloudbursts, road maintenance, or military convoys on mountain highways, our expedition leaders retain the authority to modify routes or swap days in the interest of guest safety.
